Poland’s Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported that on Tuesday, a Russian military aircraft entered Polish airspace over territorial waters. The aircraft’s flight was tracked by Polish radar systems throughout the incident.
“On February 11, 2025, at 2:09 PM, a Russian Su-24MR military aircraft violated Polish airspace over the eastern part of the Gulf of Gdańsk.”
– the Command announced on platform X.
According to the statement, the aircraft, which had taken off from the Kaliningrad region, penetrated Polish airspace to a depth of 6.5 km and remained there for 1 minute and 12 seconds.
Polish military radar systems monitored the aircraft’s movements, and its flight path was immediately adjusted following intervention from a Russian Armed Forces navigator. Polish airspace monitoring authorities remained in contact with their Russian counterparts, who acknowledged the airspace violation and attributed it to a navigation system failure on the Su-24MR.
